WJA Safety Alert – Safe Assembly of Foot Control Valves

The Water Jetting Association has issued a safety alert in support of the HSE after a serious incident revealed that a foot control valve can be assembled in a way that can make it potentially hazardous.

It was found that the low pressure dump outlet port coupling can be inadvertently configured to be subject to high water pressure.

The WJA is supporting urgent HSE advice, detailed in its own safety alert, that a series of actions must be taken, including ones stipulated in WJA codes of practice, to prevent incorrect assembly of foot control valves.
